Kate combines her career as an artist with a job as a book publicist. As well as participating regularly in group shows, she has staged solo exhibitions, including two events concerned with the evolution of London’s urban landscapes. Eastern Promise, in March 2017, was an exploration in watercolour of the changing East End. Her Miniature Salon hosted by The Proud Archivist three years earlier also involved street scenes: at this installation, visitors were invited to discover miniature paintings through apertures in bespoke wooden boxes that Kate designed and illuminated. Based at a Bow Arts studio in Wapping, she primarily works in pencil, watercolour and oils, and some of her drawings have been used to illustrate published books. She is currently experimenting with digital collage, film, and time-lapse photography, in the hope of developing new ways of combining these media with more traditional forms of representation.
